The rails

What sits between the bookmaker and your wallet

The margin is the biggest cost on a slip and it is not the only one. A withdrawal fee, a minimum that forces a bigger cash out than you wanted, and a wallet ceiling that splits a win across three days are all charges of a kind, and none of them appears on a promotions page.

six rails, as the books actually publish them

Rail Taken by Least in Time the books state Operator fee
MTN Mobile Money MoMo universal GH₵1.00 instant below each operator's auto-approval threshold free at every operator that publishes a position
Telecel Cash Telecel universal not stated same as MoMo at the same operator free where published
AirtelTigo Money AirtelTigo universal but smallest not stated same as MoMo at the same operator free where published
Bank transfer Bank common but secondary not stated one to two business days, slower than mobile money everywhere both are published not stated
Debit or credit card Card rare, deposit only not stated not stated not stated
Cryptocurrency Crypto one licensed casino, absent from every licensed sportsbook not stated not stated not stated

Every telco-side fee in this table is blank on purpose. None of the three networks publishes a verifiable tariff, and every figure in circulation traces back to an aggregator rather than to a network.

The real ceiling on a big win

The ceiling on a large payout belongs to the wallet rather than to the bookmaker, and it depends on how much identification the wallet was registered with. At the lowest level a wallet cannot receive more than GH₵3,000 in a day or GH₵10,000 in a month, and cannot hold more than GH₵5,000 at once. The monthly figure is the one that binds: splitting a big win across consecutive days does not get past it, and the only thing that removes it is registering the wallet at a higher level, where no monthly limit applies at all. The fully registered ceiling is GH₵25,000 a day against a balance of GH₵75,000.

Wallet In a day In a month Held at once
Minimum KYC GH₵3,000 GH₵10,000 GH₵5,000
Medium KYC GH₵15,000 no limit GH₵40,000
Enhanced KYC GH₵25,000 no limit GH₵75,000

Set by the Bank of Ghana and in force since 2024-03-01. A blank monthly figure means no monthly limit at that level, not an unknown one.

The transfer levy, and where it went

The Electronic Transfer Levy was cut from 1.5% to 1% at the start of 2023 and then repealed outright on 2 April 2025, and the GRA told charging entities to stop deducting the same day and refund anything taken after it. No government levy sits on a mobile money transfer today.

Repealed by the Electronic Transfer Levy (Repeal) Act, 2025 (Act 1128), effective 2025-04-02.

Where each book stands

Only some of the books on the board publish their cashier detail. A blank below is what the operator does not state, and it is left blank rather than filled in from a third party.

Questions this page gets asked

Is there still a levy on mobile money transfers?

No. The Electronic Transfer Levy was cut from 1.5% to 1% at the start of 2023 and then repealed outright on 2 April 2025, and the GRA told charging entities to stop deducting the same day and refund anything taken after it. No government levy sits on a mobile money transfer today.

What is the largest amount I can be paid into a wallet?

Do bookmakers charge to withdraw?

Almost none of them, and the exception is worth knowing: betPawa publishes a percentage fee on withdrawals on its own page while deposits stay free. Several sites state the opposite, and the operator's own page contradicts them.

Does the network I use change anything?

Very little. The switch behind all three wallets carries transfers between them, so money that lands on one network can be moved to another afterwards. What it does not do is let you pick a different network at the cashier: a payout goes to the wallet the account was registered with.
